Re-Elect Will Kennedy

  I care deeply about the future of Santa Clara and am look forward to continue working to improve our great city.  I am honored to have received endorsements from the entire Santa Clara City Council, including Mayor Patricia Mahan, Vice-Mayor Joe Kornder, Councilmembers Pat Kolstad, Kevin Moore, and Dominic Caserta.  Councilmember Jamie McCleod has provided a dual endorsement.

  For the last fifteen years, I have operated my business in Santa Clara.  My business is a law practice dedicated to protecting consumers in cases involving consumer credit, credit reports, car purchases, warranties, and fraud.  Over the course of many years, I have been heavily involved in volunteer efforts, particularly the Lawyers in the Library program and Volunteers in Parole.

  I operate my personal finances and my business according to the same economic principles which I have applied as a city council member: don't overextend, borrow only when it is truly necessary, and keep money in the bank so that every day brings you a dollar instead of costing you a dollar.  These principles have been applied well in Santa Clara - we have a reserve which allowed us to ride out the dot com bust without slashing city services.  Although the economy has improved we still face an uncertain future due to the mortgage crisis and related events.  I support holding the line on spending and rebuilding the city's reserve.  I also support further development of the city's extensive green program to further reduce use of non-renewable resources.
